Frequently asked questions

Create the mailbox you want to migrate to and log in.
Go to Settings, then find Email Migration, and click Migrate to Spacemail.
Fill in the details of your source email account, and make sure IMAP is enabled on your source account.
Type the password of the Spacemail account you’re logged in to, and select Migrate emails.

You will be able to check the status of your migration in the Migration tool window.

Absolutely! All the features that are available for paid plans are available in the trial period, so you can benefit from our migration tool and transfer your emails.

Our migration tool works by transferring emails via the IMAP protocol. This means you can transfer from any provider that supports IMAP. No backup files are needed.

This depends on the size of the mailbox you are migrating, the Internet speed, and other factors — so it’s not possible to name the exact time frame.

Your three free months will be added to your account within ten business days of your successful migration. If you signed up using our free trial offer and migrated in this period, you'll need to contact us after your trial is over so that we can add your three months manually.

Spacemail doesn’t support calendar or address book at the moment, so it is not possible to migrate them.

Our migration tool doesn’t currently allow you to import emails using a backup. However, if you have an offline backup already, you could add your mailbox to a third-party client (like Gmail or Thunderbird) using IMAP/SMTP, and import the backup there. This will then sync with your Spacemail mailbox.
